With open arms we welcomed Pat Wright back to BVCC. She stepped forward on Oct. 21 to share her decision to be part of the church family again.
Pat and her late husband, Don, were members of BVCC while Don served as our Minister of Music for almost a decade.
Pat grew up in Paris, AR and was a coal miner’s daughter. After receiving her college degree, she became a Library Media Specialist and taught at all levels in school for 33 years. The Wright Family moved to Fayetteville in 1957 and to Bella Vista in 1975. While Don directed music in colleges, schools, and churches he and Pat traveled extensively with the groups in the United States and overseas. Pat has the gift of hospitality and thoroughly enjoyed serving and entertaining the choirs in their home over the years. (She continues to enjoy serving others in her home.)
She has two sons. Mark is a record producer in Nashville, TN and John Scott is the president of a large financial Institution in Atlanta, GA. She is also blessed with six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Pat loves music and at age 12 began singing on the radio. She not only sang in many choirs and music ensembles herself, but has directed children’s choirs, led worship and taught music directors at the annual Baptist Assemblies. She is looking forward to her winter trek down south where she sings with a 125+ voice choir at a church in Naples, FL.
Some of her favorite pastimes include golfing, swimming, water aerobics and boating. Pat has always been very civic minded in the community, but her passion is sharing the Gospel with others. She feels that the Lord has called us all to be “missionaries everywhere we go”. Pat said that “the Holy Spirit leads her” and with that she is able to witness to those who don’t know the Lord, whether they meet on the beach, swimming at one of the local pools, or sitting on a plane. Pat tries to “see what people need and make herself available for them.”
Take some time to introduce yourself to Pat and get better acquainted.
