New Elders

We are happy to announce that Scott Falkenberg and Michael Pearce were affirmed by the church family on 09.16.12 to become elders for the next three year term at BVCC. Read more about their families below.

Scott & Lindsay Falkenberg Family
Carissa, Sidney, Cailyn, Levi

The Falkenberg Family relocated to NWA from Springfield, IL in November 2008. Scott was born and raised in the Lutheran Church and attended Lutheran School from K-12 in Onalaska, Wisconsin.  He graduated with two associate degrees from Western College in Wisconsin. Scott has been employed with Sam’s Club for 17 years and is currently at the Home Office in the Fuel Division.

Lindsay grew up in Bloomington, Indiana and received her Elementary Education Degree from Indiana University.  She is in her 5th year homeschooling their children: Carissa - 11, Sidney - 9, Levi - 6, and Cailyn - 3.

The Falkenbergs are very servant-minded in God’s church. Scott has ushered and has a heart for doing his very best for the Lord in whatever area of service he is called to do.  Lindsay has served in VBS for a few years and will be a part of the Children’s Ministry Wednesday night team this fall. They have served as Life Group leaders and taught in the toddler class, recently completing 3 1/2 years of teaching this age at BVCC.  Beginning next Sunday, they are looking forward to leading a new Life Group for parents of “Radiate” students at 10:45 am.  The family enjoys watching and playing football together. They joined the BVCC family on August 22, 2010.

Michael & Katie Pearce

Originally from Alabama, the Pearce Family resided in Carthage, MO for ten years before returning to their home state.  They moved to NWA in 2008.

Michael has been a part-time youth minister and worked in the poultry industry for more than 20 years.  He is currently employed with Simmons Foods as a Production Supervisor.  Katie works for Mercy Heart and Vascular as a front-end receptionist, taking care of patients and working with insurance companies.

The Pearces have two children and one grandchild.  They are excited about the arrival of two more grandchildren in January and March.

The passion they have for the Lord is very evident, as Michael has been a sponsor for our Student Ministry for a couple years. He is also a part of the men’s softball team. They have been active in our 2:42 Life Groups and feel the Lord is calling them to help start and lead a college age group.  Katie is involved with our Women’s Ministry Beth Moore studies, teaches the three year old class on Sunday, and will help with our littlest ones on Wednesday nights this fall.  They became part of the church family on April 11, 2010.
