Winston M. Carter of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Monday, July 30, 2012 at
Highland Health and Rehab in Bella Vista. He was born on January 9, 1917 in
Jasper, Missouri to John M. Carter and Myrtie (Mackey) Carter.
He was a Ford/Mercury Dealer in Carthage, Missouri for twenty-five years. He
was a charter member of the Bella Vista Christian Church, having served as
Elder, Deacon, Chairman of the Church Board and Treasurer. He was also an
active member of Gideon’s, Lions Club, Bella Vista Street Committee, Village
Pride Committee, Director and Charter member of Bella Vista Meals on Wheels,
Past Director of Helping Hands, Past Director – President of the Townhouse
Association and Crime Watch in Northeast Area. In 1999, he was awarded the
Village Pride Award.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Carter, Wife of 52
years, who died in October 1992. He is survived by his wife Jackie Hubbell Carter of Bella Vista, Arkansas;
one son, Pastor Ron Carter of Bella Vista Christian Church and daughter-in-law
Pam Carter; Step-daughter, Nancy Dallison and step-son-in-law, Dr. Noble
Dallison; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three
step-grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held at Park Cemetery in Carthage, MO on
Aug. 3. A service to celebrate Winston’s life was held at Bella Vista Christian
