A Day in the Church office

Many folks wonder just what happens in a church office during a day's time.  It's really hard to explain...but it's NEVER the same day to day.  We do however strive to ALWAYS go the extra mile for people whether it's through a phone call, email or walk-in request, which is where a unique situation came up last week.

A elderly woman from the community had brought in a sack with donations for the tornado relief.  She began to ask if anyone could help her with a problem she was having.  As she was led into the office you could see the look of frustration on her face.  The little lady asked if anyone knew how to knit and could help her get the stitching out of a big knot and going again.

Immediately Mavis, our receptionist,  replied she knitted years ago, and didn't know if she would remember, but would give it a try. Mavis went the extra mile...sat down with her and helped until everything was back in order.  The lady was very appreciative and went on her way.  You never know how you can be a blessing to others, even if you really aren't sure what's going on. Thanks, Mavis....We're so glad the church office isn't all about paper and pencil.
