Ralph & Kim Bartley with children - Jordan, Gretchen and Tennesse
The Bartleys relocated to NWA two years ago from Mulberry, Kansas. They became acquainted with BVCC through Tim and Susan Roberts. Tim’s sister was their babysitter and her husband was the pastor of the church they attended while in Kansas. Ralph started a new job last week with the Benton County Sheriff’s Department. Kim is a co-manager at the Bella Vista Dairy Queen. They have three children: Jordan, 11, is an outdoors guy... enjoying hunting and fishing. Gretchen, who is 5, attends Little Sprouts Learning Center and loves to draw and write. 22-month-old, Tennesse, likes to play with her dolls.
While attending the Harvest Time Holiness Church, Ralph and Kim assisted in monthly services at a local nursing home. They have served on the Guest Service Team and help in the Children’s Ministry. Ralph would also be interested in starting a sportsman Ministry at BVCC.
The Bartleys love to go to the lake, boating and skiing.
Kim also enjoys collecting movies, competing in demolition derbies, and reading, while Ralph bowls and hunts. They have loved being part of the BVCC family and said “After coming one time we knew this was the church for us.” Kim and Ralph were so excited about their decisions to be baptized, they decided not to wait until Commitment Sunday, but went to Tanyard Creek on April 15 for their immersion.
Wally & Shannon Dunn with daughter, Makenzie
Three factors were the reason Wally and Shannon decided to move to NWA from Memphis, TN a year and a half ago: family, job opportunity, and wanting their little one to grow up in a safer city. Wally is a Deputy Sheriff with the BC Sheriff’s Department and Shannon is a nurse in the Medical Family Center at the University of Arkansas. She also assists the attending doctor who teaches pre-med students of the University. They enjoy their family time with daughter, Makenzie, who is a year and a half. Wally also likes to run 5K marathons when time permits and Shannon is an avid reader.
The Dunns have attended quite a few churches since moving to Bella Vista and “drove by, saw BVCC, and decided to come visit.” They said “everyone has made them feel so welcome.”
They have been active in church life and previously Wally was part of the visitation team that would call at nursing homes and hospital during the week. He still has that passion for that and hopes to have more time in the years ahead to continue that area of ministry. Shannon is already connected in our Children’s Ministry and they have both served as greeters on the Guest Services Team.
Tony & Amy Talbert with daughter, Leighann
While checking out the BVCC website, Tony and Amy read about our Block Party last September and thought it sounded fun. When they arrived they bumped into Leighann’s babysitter, BVCC member Brenda Wright, and they have been coming regularly ever since. Amy has recently become part of the BVCC staff team leading the Celebration Arts Ministry on an interim basis.
Tony grew up in Bella Vista, graduated from Bentonville High School, and attended a technical school. He is now employed with Apprentice Information Systems in Rogers as a Network and Hardware Manager. His company takes care of all the computer systems for the county government offices and the State of Arkansas.
Amy is originally from Texas and graduated from Ouachita Baptist College with a Bachelor Degree in Church Music: with emphasis in piano, voice and Christian counseling. She has been Assistant Music Director/accompanist at First Baptist in Camden, AR; directed children’s & youth music and choir accompanist at United Lutheran in Bella Vista; and was Minister of Worship Arts at Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers. At the present, she is the accompanist for the Benton County School of the Arts and teaches private piano and voice lessons. Eighteen month old, Leighann, loves horses and is already enjoying music with her mom.
Serving God has always been an important part of their lives. Tony traveled with a team to Tanzania for a mission trip a few years back. He is also musical, but really enjoys being a part of the “technical” end of the worship services and theater groups, assisting with sound and lighting. In her spare time, Amy enjoys photography, while Tony likes to build and do woodworking. They both cherish their time with family. They have appreciated the “different generations” at BVCC and “loved the worship, study in The Word, and fellowship with other families” they have found while attending the church.
Vicki Weatherford
Vicki is a native of Arkansas and has been employed with Wal Mart for 25 years as a Program Manager. She and her husband, Wayne, have one son, Chris, who attends BVCC with his wife, Vanessa and their family. They have three children: Isabella, Charlotte, and newborn Alexander.
Being a grandmother to these little ones is a joy in Vicki’s life, but she also likes to read and garden. The Weatherford’s enjoy traveling to places with water, as Vicki loves to scuba dive. She and Wayne are planning a vacation adventure to an island off Honduras later this summer.
Vicki came to know BVCC through the Child/Parent Dedications of her granddaughters. After taking the recent DISCOVERY session, she has served on the Guest Service Team and is looking forward to becoming part of the Fellowship Ministry assisting with church events.
